Madzibaba Ishmael Faces Legal Storm Alone: Vapostori and MaZion for ED Demand Accountability Amidst Allegations

VAPOSTORI and MaZion for ED say Madzibaba Ishmael should face the full wrath of the law if his followers were coerced under duress to engage in the criminal activities which led to his arrest.

Madzibaba Ishmael, along with seven members of his congregation, stands accused of violating the Burial and Cremation Act 5203 and the Children’s Act 5206.

During a recent press briefing in Harare, Obey Mapuranga, the national spokesperson for Vapostori and MaZion for ED, expressed confidence in the authorities handling Madzibaba Ishmael’s case.

He emphasized that the spiritual doctrines of Johane Masowe eChishanu strictly prohibit involvement in unlawful behavior.

Mapuranga disclosed plans for their delegation to visit Madzibaba Ishmael’s shrine, affirming their commitment to upholding religious principles while condemning any transgressions.

He stressed the importance of treating Madzibaba Ishmael’s case as an isolated incident, with any guilt leading to engagement with religious leaders for guidance and support for affected families.

Regarding education, Mapuranga urged adherence to formal schooling or establishment of community educational facilities, emphasizing the opportunities it provides for vocational training.

Additionally, he encouraged reporting any instances of parental neglect to authorities for assistance.

On education, Mapuranga said:

“We urge them to send their children to Government schools or construct their own schools and colleges.

“Formal education is good as it gives children opportunities to get into vocational and training centres.
