Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries founder Walter Magaya has appeared before the courts answering to rape charges.
Sources say Magaya was arrested on Friday and reportedly spent the night at Rhodesville Police Station before he appeared at the Harare Magistrate’s Court on Saturday afternoon where he was granted $2000 bail.
According to state papers Magaya is accused of raping a 25 year old former congregant.

The papers say on an unknown date in June 2015 Magaya invited the complainant to Number 22 Colt Road, Mt Pleasant, Harare where she was she was left in a room before she was left in one of the rooms.
Magaya reportedly returned to the room stark naked and forced himself onto the complainant without protection.
“Soon after the offense, the accused gave $200 to the complainant,” reads part of the allegations.
In July 2015, the complainant reportedly reported the matter to her boyfriend.
The Form 242 says there are audio recordings of conversations between the accused person and the complainant after the rape detailing issues surrounding the commission of the offense as well as three witnesses who will testify about the rape.
Magaya was however remanded out of custody on $2000 bail.
He was also ordered to reside at his given address, surrender his passport to the clerk of court and report to the police on Mondays and Fridays between 0800 and 1800hours.
