Makhadzi Invades Jongwe Corner

SOUTH African songbird, Makhadzi, is expected in Harare today ahead of her family show at Jongwe Corner this afternoon.

The energetic performer, who now treats Zimbabwe as her second home, will share the stage with Trevor Dongo, dancehall chanter, Enzo Ishal, and rapper, ExQ.

The show starts at 2pm.

In an interview with H-Metro, show coordinator, Chau Nedu, said:

“Everything is all set for Makhadzi’s family show at Jongwe Corner for the first time on Unity Day (today).

“She is currently in the country ahead of her performance set to usher revellers into the Christmas holiday mood.

“It’s a show that our patrons have been waiting for and it will be a marvel hosting her at our joint,” she said.

Chau assured fans of a show to remember as Makhadzi will be promoting peace as well as denouncing xenophobia.

“As the nation celebrates Unity Day, Makhadzi wants to fight xenophobia.

“The concert is meant to unite the two countries and advocate against such behaviour.

“Makhadzi feels that this is her second home and she has received much love during her previous performances.

“Makhadzi is not new to Zimbabwe, having staged a number of successful shows.

“However, the Unity Day show is a bit special to us in that she will be coming on a special occasion, which means a lot for all Zimbabweans out there.

“She started her performances in BeitBridge on Tuesday.”

He said advance tickets are already on sale at Jongwe Corner, which has undergone a major facelift in recent months to meet internationally recommended standards.
