Man Loses Ear Over Snooker Dispute

A DISPUTE over a snooker tournament left a man from Trenance suburb in Bulawayo with a bitten ear after he allegedly refused to lend his neighbour US$2.

B-metro reports that Richard Moyo appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Maxwell Ncube facing a charge of physical abuse. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded out of custody to 12 December on US$30 bail.

State allegations against Moyo are that on 17 November 2023 at around 6pm, he met Johane Mlauzi (47) playing snooker at Masanga Shopping Centre.

Moyo then approached Mlauzi and requested US$2 for a snooker tournament and he told him that he had no money and this angered him.

Moyo then started insulting the victim and he responded, after which he then bit Mlauzi on the right ear and the piece fell off.

The matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of Moyo The victim was referred to hospital for medical examination and a medical report will be produced in court as evidence.
