A man from Epworth has been arrested after allegedly killing an individual caught in the act of stealing his green mealies.
The body of the suspected thief was later discovered abandoned at the Epworth Magistrates’ Court.
According to reports, 49-year-old Isaac Mudyiwa confronted Christopher Chida while he was stealing the mealies and assaulted him with planks.

When Chida’s health worsened due to the assault, Mudyiwa reportedly transported him to the court and left him there.
Assistant Inspector Faith Mapisa, the Harare provincial deputy police spokesperson, confirmed the incident.
She noted that Chida’s body showed no visible signs of injury and has been sent to the Chitungwiza Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
