A HARARE man is accused of torturing his former acquaintance, who he thinks owes him money, and of demanding mjolo.

The situation was brought up during a hearing at the Harare Civil Court where Berthinia Chaurura of Msasa Park is accusing Cladrianne Chikafu of abusing her verbally, emotionally, and s3xually for a debt she claims to not even be aware of.

According to testimony given in court, somewhere in November of last year, Chikafu traveled to Beitbridge to pick up Chaurura’s automobile and was ordered to cover the fees.

“She was my friend and pleaded with me to go and recover her stolen automobile, and we came to an agreement that she was to bear all expenses.

“I used my money later, but she won’t give it back to me now. Even though she was merely a friend, she is now telling the courts that we once dated or had a s3xual relationship.

According to Chikafu, “She is pressing all these fabricated claims because she doesn’t want to give back the money.”

He acknowledged that he had threatened her, nevertheless.

Chaurura angrily refuted the accusation that she was simply the accused’s acquaintance and not a lover.

She asserted She was also told by Chikafu to return all the presents he had previously given her.

He added that he was untouchable since he belonged to the CID and the ruling party.

“Several people threatened me and demanded that I repay the amount.

Since we were dating, I had no idea that I owe him anything, and I just agreed to pay him back out of fear, Chaurura claimed.

She claimed that a police officer assisted them in reaching a resolution and in signing the contract.
