These individuals, dressed in full police attire, were reported to have exited a kombi at Triangle.

Prompt action by the police led to the apprehension of the couple as they were en route to Mfakose within Triangle.

Upon arrest, it was revealed that Rudorwashe Nkomo, the primary accused, was attired in riot trousers, a grey shirt, ZRP insignia, a lanyard, and both a blue and drab cap. His partner, Blantina Zvidawo, possessed green traffic sleeves.

During the arrest, the second accused engaged in a physical altercation with the police before being subdued.

Further investigation disclosed that Rudorwashe Nkomo had previously served as a Police constable before abandoning his post in August 2023, adding a peculiar layer to the situation.

The couple’s attempt to deceive others by posing as law enforcement officers was exposed.

After a thorough examination of evidence and testimonies, the Triangle Magistrates’ Court imposed a wholly suspended 6-month sentence on Rudorwashe Nkomo and Blantina Zvidawo.

Additionally, they were ordered to undertake 280 hours of community service.
