Mohamed Salah’s previous contract was set to expire this summer, and there had been uncertainty surrounding his future at Liverpool.
The 32-year-old had made remarks during the season that fuelled speculation about a potential move to Saudi Arabia.
Despite the rumours, Salah has now committed his future to the club and will look to build on his remarkable record of 243 goals and 109 assists across 393 matches for the Reds.
“I’m really excited; this is a great team,” Salah said. “We’ve had strong squads before too, but I believe we have what it takes now to win more trophies and enjoy playing together.”
He added, “I’ve spent eight years here, and hopefully I’ll reach 10. I’m happy with my life and football at Liverpool. These have been the best years of my career.”

This season, Salah has netted 32 goals in all competitions, with 27 of those coming in the Premier League. Liverpool currently sit 11 points ahead of second-placed Arsenal with seven matches to play, as they aim for a record 20th top-flight title.
Since arriving from Roma in 2017, Salah has lifted the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup with Liverpool.
He was among three high-profile players with contracts set to end soon, alongside defender Virgil van Dijk and right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold. Van Dijk has shared that talks over his new deal are progressing, while Alexander-Arnold continues to be linked with a possible move to Real Madrid.
Salah’s previous contract reportedly made him the highest earner in Liverpool’s history, at over £350,000 a week. Sources suggest that his new agreement did not include a reduction in salary.
