Mute Argentinian play comes to Zimbabwe

Rooftop Promotions’ Theatre in the Park will be part of history hosting the award winning Madragora Circus a mute play from Argentina that has been on tour for the past six years and will run for two days only.
The play is presented by the company Mandragora Circo who have showcased the play in three continents and 26 countries so far.
“Circus stunt, music and unconventional instruments weave the acts of this play where only the gesture allow the audience imagine situations, conflicts and solutions in a delicate story for all the audiences,” reads a statement from Rooftop Promotions.
While it’s a first for the play in Zimbabwe, it will be a first for theatre in the park to host an Argentinian play that is wordless.
A wordless play is more effective as it cuts across all language barriers hence its successful six year worldwide tour in 26 countries across three continents.
The two hander is a 55 minute play that features Mariana Silva and Juan Cruz Bracamonte who are also the co-founders of the company.
The production of the play dates back 13 years back and has been in various festivals and scooped awards along the way.
