Drawing attention from attendees and industry experts alike, NetOne’s innovative exhibits not only wowed the audience but also highlighted the transformative potential of technology in agriculture. NetOne Group Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Raphael Mushanawani, emphasized that his organization’s presence at the week-long exhibition was not merely to make an appearance but to demonstrate its commitment to sustainable development.

“Our presence here is not to simply fulfill attendance requirements,” Mushanawani stated. “Our impactful participation at the event is aimed at showcasing and exploring the diverse range of technologies on display and their implications for the future of agriculture in Zimbabwe and beyond. We also have Smart Office and Smart Home Solutions that can revolutionize the way we interact with our home devices, leveraging the Internet of Things (IoT). As mind-blowing as it may seem, this is the new reality, and we are here to usher Zimbabweans into this future,” Mushanawani concluded with a smile.

“If you thought the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show was all about tractors and crop yields, think again!” said NetOne Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Learnmore Musunda. “We have brought a futuristic twist to the event with jaw-dropping technology displays.” He also mentioned how the organization has assisted and sponsored primary school students involved in robotics, a partnership that continues to thrive.

“The future is here, and as an organization, we have and will always support innovation. These robotic models you see here were created and programmed by primary school students. We are committed to building a sustainable future for the next generation, which is why we partner with various tech hubs,” Musunda added.

Mr. Tatenda Makumborenga, NetOne’s Acting Head of Marketing, echoed the sentiments of his colleagues. He emphasized that technology is no longer a luxury but a basic necessity for our daily lives.

“In today’s fast-paced world, technology isn’t just a luxury; it’s a necessity. Our presence at the Agricultural Show underlines how integrating technology into agriculture can revolutionize the industry, making processes more efficient, sustainable, and ultimately more profitable. The key issues in farming, since time immemorial, have been yield, leakages, and information management. The technologies we offer address these issues, from planting and harvesting to monitoring crop health,” Makumborenga explained.

“We also have Animal Tracking technology that can monitor the movement of livestock, adding an extra layer of security. Moreover, with the geo-fencing feature, you receive alerts if your livestock wanders into restricted areas.”

The reactions from show attendees were overwhelmingly positive. Many were amazed by the potential of integrating technology into farming practices, making tasks more efficient and sustainable. Some even described NetOne’s displays as eye-opening and inspiring, sparking conversations about the role of innovation in agriculture.
