New X-Ray Machine Set to Enhance Macadamia Quality and Increase Ariston’s Profits

A diversified agricultural company listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE), Ariston Holdings Ltd., just acquired a state-of-the-art X-ray machine and is anticipating a significant increase in macadamia nut production-related earnings.

By delivering in-depth evaluations of nut quality and detecting flaws that would go undetected during a regular surface inspection, the new technology will improve the company’s quality control procedures.

This state-of-the-art equipment will grade and sort macadamia nuts according to their internal quality, making operational efficiency much higher and removing the need for manual sorting methods.

With this technology, Ariston can check the quality of nuts in their shells before exporting them.

Higher standards of quality control and more efficient export pricing are two additional benefits of the upgraded grading system for macadamia nuts.

To further ensure product quality and customer safety, the X-ray machine may identify any contaminants or foreign objects within the nuts.

By sorting macadamia nuts according to kernel size, this technology helps the corporation make better pricing decisions and guarantees that its macadamia nuts are of high quality.

The use of X-ray technology in Ariston’s production process highlights their dedication to stringent quality control standards. This move is expected to enhance their macadamia output and lend assistance to efforts aimed at ensuring food safety and quality.

Macadamia nut sales at Ariston increased 93% year-over-year in the third quarter ending June 2024, hitting 1,171 metric tonnes from 606 metric tonnes the prior year.

In comparison to the same quarter in 2023, Ariston’s revenue increased by a small 0.5% due to the growth in macadamia nut sales and strong prices.

According to Ariston, the increased demand for macadamia nuts is the reason behind these advances. This is particularly noteworthy considering the worldwide decrease in production caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
