Old Video of AKA Dispelling Fake Lavish Lifestyle Rumors Resurfaces: ‘I Never Struggled for Money’

Mzansi unearthed an old interview with AKA, in which he addressed allegations of a fake lifestyle. The late rapper asserted that he had never experienced financial struggles and challenged critics to provide evidence and sources for their claims.

One notable aspect of AKA was his unfiltered approach to conversations, consistently speaking his mind both on and off the record.

This was evident in an interview with DJ Sabby, where the “Congratulate” rapper was questioned about allegations regarding his ostentatious lifestyle.

Speculations arose questioning the authenticity of certain celebrities’ lifestyles, with AKA becoming a target of such allegations.

In a 2018 video shared on Twitter by user ThisIsColbert, AKA responded to claims made by his former business partner, Prince Nyembe, suggesting they were not financially stable. The rapper asserted that he had never faced financial hardship.

Prince, who partnered with AKA at Beam Group, was also rumored to have purchased a Rolex watch for the rapper using AKA’s funds.

“I’ve never struggled for money, ever, can you guys think of a time when I was struggling for money? Who is your source of information?

“I’ve been straight for many years, before Beam Group. I was the South African male artist of the year in 2012.”

Netizens expressed admiration for AKA’s outspoken nature and appreciated how he consistently voiced his opinions.
