Position: Systems Developer: ICT – Level 9 (4 Posts)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the design, development, and implementation of new Tax and Revenue Management software applications, integrations, and software upgrades.
- Oversee business process improvement and reengineering efforts before application development.
- Develop programs using JAVA, POSTGRESQL, and ORACLE databases to address business requirements.
- Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code.
- Modify existing programs to meet changing business requirements or fix bugs.
- Adhere to the Authority’s software development standards.
- Develop integration solutions for internal and external systems.
- Provide support to end users on issues raised.
Job Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to work under pressure and beyond stipulated hours.
- Knowledge of modern development frameworks and platforms.
- Strong organizational, people, and time management skills, including sound knowledge of contracts management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Innovative and analytical team player.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent.
- Oracle Certified Associate – Java Developer.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Software development for a Java Enterprise Environment.
- Knowledge of Windows, Linux Operating Systems, and Database systems.
- Proficiency in Progressive JavaScript Frameworks such as Vue.js, Web Frameworks like Struts/Spring, Service-oriented Architecture or Web Services – SOAP or REST, Web Technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery, and Markup Languages like XML and JSON.
- Familiarity with Agile Software Development and the software Development Life Cycle Methodology.
- Knowledge of communication services such as ActiveMQ and RabbitMQ is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of ASYCUDA System Development is an added advantage.
