After four-week suspension, Selemane “Majuice” Mpochi, the star dancer and choreographer of Orchestra Mberikwadzo, has re-joined the ensemble, but not without consequences.
Following his suspension for tardiness during a performance in Chiredzi earlier this month, Majuice has been issued a final warning by Macheso’s management.
Majuice’s explanation of oversleeping at the lodge where the band was staying did not appease the management, leading to his suspension.

However, after pleading for forgiveness and seeking reconciliation through intermediaries close to Alick Macheso, Majuice’s suspension was lifted yesterday.
Confirming Majuice’s return, Orchestra Mberikwadzo publicist Tich Makahamadze emphasized the gravity of the situation. “I can confirm that Majuice is back at work. We have given him a final warning.
This is the second time that we have suspended him,” Makahamadze stated, adding that Majuice’s role has been demoted to that of an ordinary band member.
Despite his return, insiders reveal that Majuice will no longer enjoy the privileges he once had as a senior member. Kariba (Shame Chidewo) has been designated by Baba Sharo as the new senior dancer, inheriting Majuice’s responsibilities.
“He has been given a final warning but he won’t get the same favours he used to get as a senior member of the group,” disclosed a source within the Orchestra Mberikwadzo. “He finally swallowed his pride and apologised to Baba Sharo; we hope he has learnt a lesson this time around.”
Majuice’s fate now hangs in the balance, with his behavior under close scrutiny. His next appearance on stage at Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex this Saturday will serve as a litmus test for his future with the ensemble.
Orchestra Mberikwadzo has made it clear: any repeat of his past transgressions will not be tolerated.
