March is international women’s month, so the theme of the latest M-Net pop-up channel on DStv is appropriate: it’s focused on leading ladies.

And, according to MultiChoice Zimbabwe publicity and public relations manager Liz Dziva, viewers will be impressed by their strength, abilities and not just their amazing looks.

“These are the leading ladies who will command our collective attention as the M-Net Movies Pretty Deadly Pop-up Channel runs for DStv Premium customers until early April,” she said.

The channel, which runs on DStv channel 111 until midnight on Sunday April 4 and was created to coincides with the celebration of women’s contributions to the world in what is officially called Women’s History Month.

“The action movie genre has traditionally been dominated by men,” said Ms Dziva.

“But now more and more women are at the forefront of their own action films, and so M-Net has brought together the best action movie heroines on a dedicated channel to celebrate them.

“For just over two weeks, viewers can enjoy amazing women taking the characters of every action type, from assassins to superheroes, to kick, punch and shoot their way out of crises.”

Some of the movies that viewers can see on Saturdays are Captain Marvel, Alita: Battle Angel, Catwoman, Kidnap, Break In, and The Hunger Games.
