Queen of comedy Anne Kansiime now in the country

Ugandan Queen of comedy Anne Kansiime touched down at the Harare International Airport on Thursday afternoon aboard Kenya Airways alongside her partner Cotilda Inapo ahead of her second performance in the country at the Harare International Conference Center on Saturday.
Popularly known as Africa’s Queen of comedy, Kansiime will share the stage with South Africa-based Zimbabwean comedian Baba Tencen real name Pepukai Zvemhari who is also expected in the country Thursday evening aboard an Air Zimbabwe flight.
The duo’s potentially explosive comedy show dubbed Let’s Laugh Again Harare is being promoted by Xtratime Entertainment.
What is yet to be proven is whether the hilarious Kansiime will live up to expectations as she did last year when she put up a thrilled an ecstatic audience.
Xtratime Entertainment spokesperson Tonderai Mwaita said; “The Queen of comedy is now in the country and all is set for the show. We will have our official press conference on Friday in the morning at Moto Republik in Belgravia in Harare.
“We are urging comedy enthusiasts to come in their numbers for the concert. Tickets of the show are selling from Reflections Gift Shop branches in Avondale, Sam Levy’s village and ZB Life Towers using point of sale machines, cash or Ecocash.
Mwashita said there would be surprise acts at the show, that include an unnamed musical outfit.
The award-winning Kansiime and Baba Tencen will share the stage with local comedian Q Dube and versatile beat boxer Probeatz.
Kansiime launched her career in 2007, while still an undergraduate at Makerere University.
She began to participate in drama skits acted by the theatre group Theatre Factory, who performed at the Uganda National Theatre in Kampala’s central business district before joining Theatre Fun.
Some of her best skits were broadcast on NTV Uganda in the Barbed Wire TV show that later became U-Turn.
The Ugandan stand-up comedian has won several awards including AIRTEL Women of Substance Awards in 2014, 2013 BEFFTA (Best Comedian) Winner, Lagos International Festival (Best Actress) Winner (2013), Social Media Awards (Favorite Celebrity) winner (2013), and African Social Awards Malaysia (ASAM) – 2013.
