Three Zimbabwean nationals, Edison Ngamiko (38), Amos Hassan Masiya (38), and Edron Panashe Chisanako (39), were each given two life sentences by the Pretoria High Court for two murder convictions.
They were also sentenced to 12 months for unlawfully entering the country and 10 years for attempted murder.
Three teenage ladies, ages 15, 16, and 23, approached the guys at the Mashanganeng Tavern in Olievenhoutbosch on February 17, 2023, requesting money to purchase alcohol.
This unfortunate episode is the basis for the case. The men initially offered them R40. The males complied when the girls asked for an additional R20 to compensate a male friend who was going to go home with them.
Chisanako asked the 15-year-old for sexual favors later that evening. She collapsed after Chisanako shot her in the neck after she refused and the 16-year-old stepped in.
The other two girls were killed at the site after he shot them several times. Ngamiko was also shot during the confusion. Ngamiko tried to kill the 16-year-old after realizing she was still alive, but the gun was out of ammunition.
Then the three of them ran away.
