Kalungu District, Central Uganda, where a security guard shot and killed an Arsenal fan, John Ssenyonga, 30, and injured another man, Lawrence.
The incident happened at Afric Restaurant in Lukaya Town Council on Wednesday night.
Trouble started when Arsenal fans began celebrating wildly after their team took a 2-0 lead over Manchester United in an English Premiership match. The restaurant managers switched off the electricity, which didn’t sit well with the Arsenal fans.
They started protesting, and the security guard, Richard Okecho, ordered them to keep quiet. When they didn’t comply, he opened fire.

Okecho, attached to Garda World Security Company, disappeared after the incident, but the police recovered the gun from the crime scene. The police spokesperson, Mr. Twaha Kasirye, condemned the incident and urged anyone with information to come forward.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first incident involving football fans in Uganda. Less than two months ago, an Arsenal fan allegedly assaulted a Manchester United fan, leading to his death. John Ssenyonga
