Soul Jah Love to light up Cape Town
Zimdancehall bad boy Soul Jah Love,born Soul Musaka will perform in Capetown Saturday at the Strand Secondary school.
The show dubbed DJ Speed birthday bash will see the Ndini Uya uya singer having a chance to affirm his status to the Capeteons as one of the finest Zimdancehall top artistes.
Supported by rookies, Fyah Lynx and Lady Banks the revered chanter-who was diaganosed with sugar diabetes at the age of seven and has of late been down with the condition-will also use the show to prove he is still a force to reckon with.
Although reportedly had been confined to a wheel chair, Soul Jah Love has managed to soldier on with live performances performing at his recent international assignment in the UK without aid.
The chanter’s recent misfortunes however seem to have triggered a spark of curiousity among his Capetown fans who hold high expectations and are equally anxious about his health.
Denzel Mukwesha a staunch Zimdancehall fanatic and avid Soul Jah Love follower could not contain his joy on learning his favourate artiste would in town but however raised concern over the chanter’s much publicised health problems.
“I am jubilant that Soul Jah Love is performing here but l am mainly going to attend just to see for myself whether he still has the same energy he exuded before his battle with diabetes,” he said.
Strand based Ngonidzashe Nyambuya said the gig was one not to miss despite the well documented chanter’s health battle.
The show has also drawn attention among Zimdancehall fans as it has come at a time Soul Jah Love’s relationship with Bounty Lisa is on the rocks.
Bounty Lisa is now staying with her mother in Johhanesburg.
Ironically she has also been frequenting performances in Cape Town which has raised suspicion among fans whether the couple would use the tour as a step towards reconciliation.
Oga Sawara, the show organiser insisted that the artiste was on a strict mission which was to thrill his fans.
In a telephone interview Oga said the focus of the gig was thrust on celebrating DJ Speed’s birthday and Jah Love had been engaged to provide entertainment.
He added that the chanter was in high spirirts ready to thrill.
He said preparations for the gig were at an advanced and urged all Zimdancehall fans to come in their numbers as they had prepared a night not to forget.
