Spirit Praise Worship Team was formed in 2013 and it boasts over 40 members. Led by the choir director Learnmore Tawengwa, so far they have two musical albums: Yatokwana Nguva and Vatatu Mumwechete. It has also released two DVDs— Worship Moments Series 1 and 2.
On September 20 Spirit Praise will be launching their brand at 99 Parklane Road, opposite Harare Gardens in Harare running from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. It is going to be a glamourous red carpet event where they are promising to give a stellar performance.
“We aim to be the most innovative, praise and worship concert choir that brings together the Christian community and celebrate the life of Jesus Christ through music dance and worship.We also endeavor to become an effective preacher of the word of God through music locally, regionally and globally,” said Learnmore Tawengwa.
Spirit Praise is known for hosting different church choirs under one roof, through their annual event One Voice Concert.Preparations for this year’s edition of One Voice Concert are at an advanced stage. It will be held on 25 and 26 October in Harare Gardens.
The theme for this year is Gathering of Champions. The Harare Gardens event will feature Martin PK from South Africa and Nigeria’s Osinachi Nwachukwu.
The two will share the stage with local musicians, the likes of Takesure Zamar Ncube and several church choirs from different denominations.
Some of the expected church choirs include Heartfelt Worship Team, Covenant Praise, Africa Praise, TOG Praise Team, the United Family International church choir, Victory Praise Team, Assemblies Praise Team, Redeemed Praise Team, UAFC Worship, KPM Praise Team, Zaoga UCCI Choir, Zaoga Breaside Choir, Faith World Worship Team, National Praise Team Living Worship, Jesus Generation International Ministries Praise Team, TWC Praise Team and Avondale Anglican Youth among others.On the previous edition that was held at HICC, the Spirit Praise invited Shingisai Suluma as the guest artiste.
