Suspected Drug Dealer Assaults Deputy Minister Over Parking Dispute

A suspected drug dealer is currently evading authorities after allegedly assaulting Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Tongai Mnangagwa following a dispute over parking space on Tuesday night.

According to police reports obtained by The Herald, Mnangagwa and his entourage parked their convoy outside Trude Mansions, an apartment block located at the intersection of Sixth Street and Fife Avenue in Harare’s Avenues area.

The altercation occurred after Mnangagwa attended a party at the apartment block, whereupon his return to his vehicle, Antony Mwedziwendira confronted him regarding blocked parking during the event. Mwedziwendira allegedly assaulted Mnangagwa and one of his aides before fleeing the scene upon realizing the Deputy Minister’s identity.

Subsequent searches of the vehicles left behind uncovered illicit drugs and substances, along with two passports, one belonging to suspected Mwedziwendira. A police report was filed at ZRP Milton Park.
