Scholarship Overview:
The Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP) is a newly established scholarship program, succeeding the Swedish Institute Study Scholarships (SISS). It offers scholarships for numerous master’s programs at Swedish Universities in the Autumn of 2024.

The primary objective of the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals is to cultivate future leaders on a global scale, contributing to the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Recipients are expected to play a pivotal role in fostering positive and sustainable development in their home countries and regions.

Study Levels and Fields:
Full-time one or two-year Master’s Programs offered by Swedish Universities and Higher Education Institutions.
Approximately 700 English-taught master’s programs are eligible for the SI scholarship for Global Professionals, spanning disciplines such as humanities, agricultural science, medicine and public health, natural science, social science, and technology. The official website will soon provide a list of eligible master programs for the SISGP call for applications for the academic year.

Scholarship Coverage/Duration:
The scholarship encompasses full tuition fees, living expenses of SEK 12,000 per month, insurance, and a one-time travel grant of SEK 10,000-15,000 (applicable only to scholarship holders residing outside Sweden).
The scholarship is specifically for full-time one-year or two-year master’s programs, with awards only granted for programs starting in the autumn semester.
It does not include additional grants for family members and does not cover the application fee for University Admissions.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for SISGP:
• You must be a citizen of a country eligible for SI scholarships (refer to the list above). Residency in the country at the time of application is not required.
• The master’s programs you apply for must be eligible for SI scholarships, with the university prioritizing programs within specific subject areas based on your country of citizenship.
• Demonstrated work experience is required (conditions apply to certain regions). Additionally, you must showcase leadership experience from your current or previous employer or civil society engagement.
• You must be liable to pay tuition fees to Swedish universities, have followed the steps of University Admissions, paid the application fee on time, and have been admitted (or conditionally admitted) to one of the eligible master’s programs by 21 March 2024.
