Prophet Walter Magaya’s challenges continue to mount, with his Yadah TV channel set to go off air on DStv after six years of broadcasting.
This latest development follows the controversy surrounding his alleged fake University of South Africa (UNISA) qualifications, adding to his recent legal troubles.
Legal Battles Over ZIFA Elections
Magaya found himself in hot water after contesting the ZIFA Normalisation Committee’s decision to bar him from participating in the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) elections.
His disqualification stemmed from his failure to submit an O’ Level certificate, a mandatory requirement for candidates vying for leadership positions.
In an attempt to justify his eligibility, Magaya took the matter to the High Court, presenting three diplomas, one of which he claimed was from UNISA.
However, this move backfired when the South African institution denied ever enrolling him, confirming that the diploma was fraudulent.

UNISA has since taken steps to press forgery charges against Magaya, reportedly engaging the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) in the matter.
If convicted under Section 137 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, Magaya could face a fine, a 20-year prison sentence, or both.
Yadah TV’s Closure on DStv
On top of his legal troubles, Magaya has now lost his television platform. DStv announced that Yadah TV will cease operations on its service by the end of January 2025.
Subscribers received the following message:
“Dear Viewer, please note that YADAH TV is closing on the 31st of Jan 2025. Thank you for watching.”
Efforts to obtain an official statement from either DStv or Magaya regarding the shutdown of Yadah TV were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
