Elections are less than two months away, prices of petrol and basic commodities are skyrocketing, signalling the jitteriness of business in Zimbabwe.
Yet one businesswoman – the brains behind leading clothing shop, Jan Jam, Cynthia Bizure-Sithole, is in a bullish mood. She has just opened a third branch in the CBD, making it four Jan Jam shops, which she plans to grow to at least 20 nationwide.
The new shop, which is located a stone’s throw away from the first store in George Silundika Avenue, comes loaded with a wide range of clothes and accessories for men. Unlike the other branches, which focus mainly on formal wear, this one comes with a sportswear section.
There are also some cool accessories such as the man bags, watches, hats and jackets.
The shop was officially opened by Cynthia’s father Pastor Alwyn Bizure in the presence of fashion models, bloggers and a number of designers.
“I am very happy for Cynthia and her husband as they open yet another Jan Jam branch. These two really work hard, flying out frequently to build this brand. It is pleasing to see them reap the fruits of their labour,” said Pastor Bizure.
Guests were treated to some music and comedy from the likes of Prayersoul and Gonyeti, respectively. Cynthia’s husband, Tanaka Sithole who was bubbling with joy said he was surprised that his wife had managed to revamp the new joint.
“You people should have seen this place before it had been renovated. I did not think it would look this beautiful,” said Tanaka.
He continued: “I was here the first days and this place was a mess. I am really shocked at how it looks now. Am so proud of my wife. It took her a lot of time to make sure this place looks this good. I am grateful to all our customers who keep supporting us. We really appreciate you and we owe this growth to you.”
