Three Zimbabwean nationals were apprehended in South Africa with containers suspected to contain stolen diesel.
The three suspects caught with diesel in these containers in Ogies could not produce the proof of purchase.
The trio, aged between 24 and 30, were nabbed in Ogies, Mpumalanga, where police seized 2,187 litres of the suspected stolen fuel on Thursday.
Their arrest stemmed from a February report regarding coal theft at a Middelburg mine. Acting on this information, authorities discovered three light delivery vehicles loaded with diesel-filled containers.

None of the drivers could provide proof of purchase, leading to their arrest on charges including possession of suspected stolen property, illegal dealing in diesel, and violating the Immigration Act
“When members were busy with a follow-up on the information, three light delivery vehicles were found fully loaded with containers filled with diesel.
“All drivers could not produce the proof of purchase, hence they were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property, illegal dealing in diesel and contravention of the Immigration Act,” police spokesperson Col Donald Mdhluli said.
The suspects are slated to appear in the Ogies magistrate’s court in the near future.
