Trócaire Seeks Programme Intern to NGO & Social Services job

Reporting to the Programme Manager, the Programme Intern will assist in the daily management of our country programme, supporting administrative and operational tasks. Key responsibilities include providing programme implementation assistance, administrative support, updating project documents, and occasional field visits.

Safeguarding Policy:
Trócaire prioritizes safeguarding individuals within our programs and upholds stringent policies, including a Global Code of Conduct, to prevent exploitation and abuse. Successful candidates will be required to adhere to these policies and undergo pre-employment screenings.

Scope of Role:
As a member of the Trócaire Zimbabwe Programme Team, the Intern will primarily offer administrative support to ongoing projects, collaborating closely with the Office Administrator and Project Advisors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Administrative Support:

  • Organize events, meetings, and workshops.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for staff and manage related documentation.
  • Maintain organized hard and electronic files, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Assist in procurement of stationery and equipment, adhering to organizational policies.

Programme Management Support:

  • Aid in preparing for programme meetings, workshops, and visits.
  • Compile reports and minutes for programme meetings.
  • Assist in documentation related to procurement of goods and services.

Programme Administration and Finance:

  • Facilitate requisition processes and clearance for programme activities.
  • Ensure timely processing of purchase requisitions in line with Trócaire’s procurement policy.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in development work.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.


  • Proficiency in coordinating meetings and workshops.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Aptitude for a broad range of administrative tasks supporting development projects.

  • Flexibility to work beyond standard hours when necessary.
