Donald Trump has stated that resolving the conflict between Ukraine and Russia will be his primary focus when he assumes office next month, suggesting that the Middle East situation is “less complex.”
In an interview with French magazine Paris Match, Trump emphasized the severe human cost of the war, noting that both Russia and Ukraine are suffering heavy casualties, with hundreds of thousands of soldiers killed. He acknowledged the importance of addressing the Middle East but indicated that the situation there is less challenging compared to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.

Trump further mentioned his recent trip to Paris, where he attended the reopening of the Notre Dame cathedral and met with French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. During their meeting, Zelensky expressed gratitude for Trump’s determination to bring an end to the war in Ukraine.
Trump, who has previously claimed he could resolve the Ukraine conflict in 24 hours, reiterated his call for an immediate ceasefire and the commencement of negotiations. Additionally, he reaffirmed his stance of non-intervention in Syria, stating that the country should manage its own issues.
