On Saturday 29 September, tragedy struck Lake Chivero as two fishermen, Ralph and Clemence, lost their lives in a heartbreaking accident. The serene waters, often a site of leisure and joy, turned into a scene of sorrow for the local community.
The two fishermen are believed to have been fishing at the vicinity on the day. The ZRP has not yet published anything concerninng the incident.
Rescue teams worked tirelessly, and while Ralph’s body was recovered, the search for Clemence continued and he was found yesterday. Efforts were made throughout the day yesterday, with the assistance of the Norton Community, Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) and the Department of Scuba Divers.
Despite their diligent search, Clemence’s body remains missing, and the hunt is ongoing.
The community is rallying together, offering prayers and support to the families affected by this tragic incident.
Clemence was well-known in the Norton area, not only for his love of fishing but also for his kindness and spirit.
The search teams and community members have expressed their gratitude for everyone who contributed to the rescue efforts, especially the ZRP and local fishermen who dedicated their time and resources to help in the search.
