A tragic incident occurred in Kodzwa Village, Chiweshe, on Monday, when a two-month-old infant died after being accidentally struck on the head with a log by her father, Tapiwa Masache, during a domestic dispute. Masache, 26, reportedly intended to strike his wife with the log but missed, hitting their baby instead. The infant was rushed to a hospital in Glendale but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Masache is currently on the run.
In a separate incident, a 30-year-old man, Wilson Mashaya, was fatally stabbed in the chest during a quarrel over beer at a bar in Chiredzi on Saturday. The attacker, identified as Mupfuka, is believed to have been involved in the altercation that led to Mashaya’s death.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed both incidents in a statement, confirming that investigations are underway into the two separate murder cases in Chiweshe and Chiredzi. Police are urging anyone with relevant information to report to the nearest police station.
