The Utrecht Excellence Scholarship (UES) presents an opportunity for numerous international students from outside the European Economic Area to pursue a Master’s degree in selected fields at Utrecht University.

The Utrecht Excellence Scholarship may cover tuition fees or tuition fees plus the required income linked to a residence permit for study, as determined by the Immigration and Naturalisation Service, for one year. The scholarship is granted for the nominal duration of the program and is renewable for the second year for two-year master’s programs.
Eligibility:
To qualify for a Utrecht Excellence Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
• Belong to the top 10% of your graduating class.
• Do not hold an EU/EEA passport and are ineligible for support under the Dutch study grant and loan system.
• Completed secondary school and/or bachelor’s degree outside the Netherlands.
• Applied for an eligible international master’s program with a start date of 1 September 2024.
Application Instructions:
After submitting an application (or applications) for a UES eligible Master’s program before the specified deadline, non-EU/EEA students can apply for one Utrecht Excellence Scholarship from 1 November 2023.
The UES application(s) will be visible in your OSIRIS Online Application account dashboard. Prospective students seeking consideration for the scholarship must apply before 1 February 2024, 23:59 CET, after which the application portal will be closed.
