Delta Corporation Limited hosted a sendoff ceremony for the University of Zimbabwe’s Enactus team at their headquarters in Borrowdale, on September 27, 2024.
The team, crowned Enactus Zimbabwe National Champions, is set to represent the country at the Enactus World Cup in Astana, Kazakhstan, from October 1-4, 2024.
The University of Zimbabwe emerged victorious at the local Enactus Zimbabwe National Competition held in July at the Celebration Centre, attracting over 280 delegates. Their innovative project, Aqua Flora, addresses the infestation of Water Hyacinth in Zimbabwean water bodies while capitalizing on opportunities in the local turf industry.
Aqua Flora brings together government bodies, including the Zimbabwe National Water Authority, Environmental Management Agency, and ZIMPARKS, along with the local Watertalls-Mukuviai River and Lake Chivero community. The initiative collects Water Hyacinth, processes it into powder, and produces high-quality, lightweight Hydra boards for various applications in furniture products.
