Victoria Falls Man Chokes Girlfriend With Shoelace To Death , Hid Body For Days

A chilling incident has shaken the community of Victoria Falls, as a man has been accused of choking his girlfriend with a shoelace and hiding her body for two days.

The tranquility of Victoria Falls was shattered when Bothwell Nkomo, a 28-year-old resident, became embroiled in a grim legal battle following the tragic demise of his partner, Amanda Dube.

According to prosecutors, on March 18, 2024, a heated altercation between Nkomo and Dube turned fatal. Allegedly, Nkomo resorted to using a shoelace to end Dube’s life amidst the escalating conflict.

Rather than alerting the authorities, Nkomo chose to conceal Dube’s body within his residence for a chilling period of 48 hours. The shocking discovery came when a concerned individual, searching for Dube, stumbled upon the grisly scene.

The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe reported that the witness, in quest of Amanda Dube, visited Nkomo’s home, only to encounter the gruesome reality of her fate. Swiftly, law enforcement was notified, leading to Nkomo’s arrest and the recovery of Dube’s decomposing remains.

Nkomo faced his preliminary hearing in court the following day and has been detained until April 4, awaiting further legal proceedings.

In response to this horrific incident, the Zimbabwe Republic Police issued a stern warning against resorting to violence during disputes. This tragic case serves as a somber reminder of the dire consequences of violence, which can claim lives and tear communities apart.
