What’s really cooking at ZiFM
By Showbiz Writer
The recent one month has been rather difficult for the Supa Mandiwanzira owned ZiFM stereo with personnel jumping off the fairly new train too frequently for comfort.
While the institution may still remain sound inwardly, outwardly it has left group CEO Susan Makore appearing like a sliding door operator (urban commuter omnibus conductor).
The most recent departure of Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa has however somewhat left many with more questions than answers, as the former ‘blue eyed girl’ of the station had reportedly fallen out of favour with authorities.
Ruvhi, as she is sometimes referred to leaves after her famous (or is it infamous) interview with exiled Pastor Evan Mawarire of the #ThisFlag after which she refuted she was the one who invited Zanu PF apologist Tafadzwa Musarara for her show The Platform.
Just last month Candice Mwakalyelye, DJ Eskay (Simbarashe Kaparipari), Zihlo (Samantha Nozihlobo Ndlovu), Farai Mwakutuya and Kundai Chiyanike all indicated they were leaving to pursue different career paths.

Some sources at the station however said the departures had nothing to do with the running of the company and said all those that had departed except for Ruvheneko had gotten better offers they could not resist.
“Candice, Zihlo and Farai all got better offers while Eskay will be joining his wife in the United States of America,” said sources at the company.
“It is just being blown out of proportion but there is really nothing to talk about. Anyone who gets a better offer just leaves. Ruvheneko’s case is a public secrete. It’s all about her denial that she was the one who invited Musarara for that interview.”
Another source also indicated that Ruvheneko could be returning to the organisation although it was not clear in what capacity she would rejoin and if at all she would return.

Before her resignation, Ruvheneko had been moved to Mighty Movies, another subsidiary of AB Communications from her powerful programs manager post at her own instigation citing “frustrating working conditions for the past 10 months”.
While she was one of the most famous presenters at the station with her show The Platform, Ruvheneko some complained she often showed traits of unnecessary aggression especially whenever her guests seemed to be on top of their game, a behavior which commentators attributed to limited understanding of issues.
Yet it remains to be seen what lies in the future for the vibrant station.
