A woman hailing from Domboshava found herself in court yesterday, accused of assaulting another woman whom she suspected of having an affair with her husband.

Delia Mukonyora, aged 38, stood before regional magistrate Mr. Stanford Mambanje facing charges of attempted murder. She was remanded in custody until Thursday pending a bail application.

According to the state prosecutor, Mr. Lancelot Mutsokoti, the incident occurred on Saturday when Mukonyora confronted Ellen Malungisa, accusing her of being romantically involved with her husband.

In a separate case, a 19-year-old security guard named Milan Marangwanda appeared in court on charges of attempted murder after accidentally shooting his colleague in the knee with a firearm.

Marangwanda was granted bail set at US$100 and is scheduled to appear in court again on April 8.

The prosecutor detailed that on March 4, around 5:15 pm, Marangwanda was seated in a truck with his colleague when he was handed a 22 Pietro Beretta pistol for duty.
