A woman from Harare has accused her husband’s longtime mistress of repeatedly infecting him with sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Batsirai Musendwa claims that her husband has been in a seven-year affair with Praise Munaki, who she believes is responsible for his recurring STI issues. Despite this, Batsirai alleges that her husband unfairly blames her whenever he contracts an infection.
Tensions reached a peak on Valentine’s Eve when Batsirai spotted Praise in Harare’s Central Business District and confronted her physically, accusing her of attempting to destroy her marriage. The incident led Praise to apply for a protection order, bringing the matter before Harare Magistrate Judith Taruvinga.

In court, Batsirai expressed her frustration, saying, “I attacked her because I’m tired of my husband’s behavior. Praise has infected him with STIs multiple times, and he always blames me for it.” She also claimed that Praise had recently given birth and was trying to convince her husband that he was the father, but Batsirai dismissed the idea, stating that Praise has a history of dating several married men.
In her defense, Praise stated that Batsirai had attacked and harassed her publicly, demanding she end the affair. “She assaulted me in town, accusing me of being with her husband. I fear for my safety because she has threatened to harm me and might even hire people to kill me,” Praise said.
After hearing both sides, Magistrate Judith Taruvinga issued a mutual protection order, ordering both women to refrain from further conflict.
