Harare Civil Court, Needmore Ferenando accused her church friend, Juliet Kuengwa, of having a relationship with her husband.
Juliet had brought Needmore Ferenando to court, claiming she felt threatened by her.
Needmore explained that she grew suspicious when she called her husband one night and heard Juliet’s voice in the background. Her worries increased when her son told her he saw his father’s car parked in a quiet spot late at night.
“When I checked, I found my husband undressed in the car with Juliet,” Needmore said. She sought advice from their priest but said Juliet continued to send her husband birthday messages and buy him underwear, which she saw as attempts to seduce him.
Juliet strongly denied these accusations. She said Needmore’s husband was actually her business partner and had asked her to start a business together. They were even planning to register their company, Juliet claimed.

“I’m scared because Needmore has threatened and insulted me,” Juliet told the court. She also mentioned an incident where she said Needmore had stabbed her own husband, suggesting a history of violence.
Magistrate Joana Mukwesha rejected Juliet’s request for a protection order, saying there wasn’t enough proof that Juliet’s life was in immediate danger. The case highlighted the complicated relationship and accusations between these church friends, leaving unresolved tension in their community.
