Cecilia Chitambo, aged 35, has been handed an 18-month jail term for igniting her husband on fire , Fungai Nyazana, during a dispute triggered by suspicions of infidelity.
The incident unfolded on January 1, 2024, during a confrontation at their home in Zimbabwe.
As per the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the clash erupted when Nyazana confronted Chitambo over his doubts regarding her fidelity, aggravated further by a visit from Chitambo’s ex-husband.
An NPAZ statement revealed that Chitambo sought refuge at her parents’ home as tensions escalated, only to return later that day to a fateful escalation.
