Work begins at Machipisa bridge

Work has started at the Machipisa Bridge where thespian Tafadzwa Muzondo plans to erect a theatre.

Muzondo recently got the necessary support from the City Fathers who are the custodians of the neglected space and cleaning work is scheduled to be completed Monday October 24 in time for the ground breaking ceremony.

He posted on Facebook Thursday indicating they had an induction ceremony at the bridge.

“The Theatre pa Bridge cleaning team of community volunteers guided by City of Harare waste management experts had an induction session at Machipisa Bridge which included a tour of the bridge,” reads part of the post.

“The EDZAI ISU team led by Trust founder Tafadzwa Muzondo with board chair of EDZAI ISU Patience Gamuchirai Tawengwa, Vice Secretary Valentine Maponga and Logistician Gody Nyarumwe briefed the volunteers on the cleaning assignment.”

He said community volunteers that include Highfield Environment Management Trust, friends of Muzondo’s program TISU.COM as well as touts were ready and determined to complete the clean up by Monday October 24.
