Zimbabwe Falls Short of CAF African Schools Football Championship Finals

Zimbabwe falls short of reaching the CAF African Schools Football Championship finals, having lost in both groups of the COSAFA Qualifier. The U15 Boys secured the second position in Group A with nine points from three wins in four games.

Despite an initial 4-0 loss to Malawi, they rebounded with victories against Eswatini, Botswana, and Mozambique. Malawi, topping Group A, will compete against Group B winners South Africa in the boys’ final, with the victor advancing to next year’s continental finals.

As Group A runners-up, Zimbabwe will face Namibia, the second-placed team in Group B, in the bronze fixture. In the girls’ tournament, Zimbabwe secures fourth place with only one victory, losing the remaining three games in Group A. The girls’ final will feature South Africa against Botswana.
