Zimbabwean Citizens Deliver Petition to Stop Palestine Killings.
More than a hundred Zimbabwean citizens marched to the US Embassy in Harare to deliver a petition that demands the cease of killings of Palestine’s citizens.
Before the march, the Palestine Ambassador to Zimbabwe HE Dr Tamer Almassri addressed the group sharing horrific news of what Palestine is going through under the Israeli attacks.
The petition that was handed over to the American Embassy read,

HARARE
Petition by the People of Zimbabwe to the Government of the United States of America Pertaining to the Israeli War Crimes in Gaza and the West Bank.
Delivered on 2 December 2023 to the Embassy of the United States of America Harare by a Solidarity March of Palestine representing the People of Zimbabwe.
1. WHEREAS since the beginning of October 2023 the State of Israel has waged a relentless war on Gaza and the West Bank which has had a devastating impact on the population and has seen grievous war crimes against humanity committed. Over 15 000 people have been killed mainly children and women, more than 38 000, injured, 1.7 million forcibly displaced. War crimes committed by the State of Israel supported by your government and its allies as a result of the collective punishment of a people through indiscriminate bombing of hospitals , schools, residential areas, destroying complete neighborhoods, water desalination facilities; denying Palestinians water, food, medicine and fuel, destroying churches and mosques and mass evictions and ethnic cleansing in clear violation of the International law and the Humanitarian law which constitute war crimes against humanity.
2. ALARMED by the fact that despite a resolution for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire of hostilities by an overwhelming majority of nations in the General Assembly, Israel backed by the USA, UK and Member States of the European Union have escalated the war in Gaza and the West Bank leading to thousands more deaths, including many children and the risk of an all-out regional conflict.
3. APPRECIATING AND HAILING with great pride the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their heroic resistance to the colonial apartheid Israeli occupation in order to achieve their legitimate rights including the establishing of their free and independent State of Palestine with Jerusalem as the Capital according to the international law and relevant legitimacy resolutions.
4. WE THE PEOPLE OF ZIMBABWE NOW THEREFORE CALL UPON THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA TO:
Fully condemn and denounce Israel’s indiscriminate military bombing and attacks on Palestinian civilians and civilian areas, including hospitals, schools, residential buildings in Gaza and attempted ethnic cleansing and forced displacements of Palestinians which against international and humanitarian law;
Support for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire by Israel and allow humanitarian assistance to enter Gaza and ensure the resumption of vital supplies including water, gas, fuel, electricity and basic supplies and guarantee the safety of international press and relief agencies;
Hold Israel accountable for its violations of international law including collective punishment against civilians, blocking humanitarian aid, forced displacements; the bombing of civilian facilities (schools, hospitals and health clinics), the use of white phosphorus and bombing citizens have fled for safety as well as the threat to use atomic bomb in Gaza;
Stop with immediate effect the export and supply of military equipment by the US government which is being used by the Israeli occupation army to commit war crimes against the Palestinian people at the expense of the American tax payers. This makes America complicity in this genocide.
Stop the double standards regarding the implementation of the International Law and force Israel to abide by the international and held accountable for its crimes against humanity.
Demand the US government to apply pressure on the Israeli government to end this genocide and find a lasting solution the prolonged occupation of the Palestinian land as a whole and comply with United Nations resolutions to enable the Palestinian people to exercise their inalienable national rights, including the right to return, self-determination and to independent statehood on their national soil with Jerusalem as its capital.
The US as the member of the United Nations Security Council and major ally of Israel has a responsibility for compensation and restitution for the Palestinian people for the destruction inflicted on the Palestinian people by this indiscriminate bombing and killings in Gaza and West bank.
We emphasize that there is no military solution to this conflict except by recognising the inalienable rights of Palestinian people to self-determination, the right to return, and to independence of their state on their national soil with Jerusalem as its capital.
WHEREFORE THE PETITIONERS ON BEHALF OF THE PEOPLE OF ZIMBABWE PETITION THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA TO ACT URGENTLY ON THIS ISSUE TO STOP HUMAN CARNAGE THROUGH IMMIDEATE CEASEFIRE AND START A MEANINGFUL POLITICAL JUST AND PERMANENT SOLUTION FOR THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE.
