The Zimbabwe Music Rights Association (ZIMURA) has confirmed that renowned composer Mafara Matuka, also known as Abraham Samatuka, is a registered member of the organization.
In a letter addressed to relevant parties, ZIMURA’s Supervisor of Documentation and Distribution, Cathrine Ziyambi, verified Matuka’s membership, which dates back to 2022.
The letter highlighted ZIMURA’s role in administering public performance, broadcasting, and cable diffusion rights for composers in Zimbabwe.
Matuka, a respected figure in the music industry, is seeking assistance with his upcoming musical project, “Africa, Asia-China Relationship.”
(ZIMURA) Zimbabwe Music Rights Association’s confirmation of his membership is expected to facilitate his work on this project.

A member of ZIMURA, Mafara Matuka’s rights are protected under the Berne Convention, which safeguards literary, musical, and artistic works.
