Zimbabwean internet service provider (ISP), ZODSAT, has received official approval from the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (POTRAZ) to distribute Starlink kits in the country.
Prior to this, only TelOne and Aura were authorized to sell Starlink kits in Zimbabwe.
In a formal letter to ZODSAT, POTRAZ granted approval for the ISP to become an official Starlink reseller. The letter stated:
“We are pleased to inform you that your application to become a Starlink agency/reseller has been approved. You may now proceed with the necessary steps to begin offering Starlink services to your customers.”

Starlink was granted a license to operate in Zimbabwe last year and launched in September. Although many ISPs have signed agreements with Starlink to resell its services, they still require approval from the regulator to begin selling the kits.
Following Starlink’s licensing, there has been significant interest in the service, especially in remote and underserved areas where traditional internet infrastructure is lacking. Starlink’s satellite-based internet technology provides a more reliable and faster connection at a competitive cost compared to other existing services.
