Manica Diamonds FC has strongly denied claims that the club has been taken over by Danieg Incorporated, describing the alleged move as illegal and without any proper process.
In an official statement, the club’s board and executive leadership said there has been no agreement or formal handover from AMV to Danieg Incorporated.
“Any reports suggesting a change in ownership are false and should be ignored,” the statement said.
The club also raised concern over how the issue has been handled, saying there was no transparency, consultation, or due diligence.
According to the statement, the supposed takeover ignored the interests of supporters, who the club described as the true owners and foundation of the team.
Manica Diamonds questioned why a press conference about the club was held in Harare instead of Manicaland, where the team is based. They suggested this was done to avoid scrutiny from local supporters and stakeholders.
“It is now working with its legal team to protect its ownership structure and prevent what it called a “hostile” attempt to take control,” the statement added.
Fans have been urged to remain calm and ignore what the club described as misinformation, as leadership moves to safeguard the future of the team, popularly known as the Gem Boys.
