Daniel Chauke was given a 133-year prison term for being a serial killer and rapist. The monster targeted victims like a 71-year-old woman and a 69-year-old who was attacked while returning from the fields.
In one horrific case, he killed and raped a woman, then chopped her dog’s head off with a machete.
In a different instance, he took the woman’s clothes and undergarments before using a knife to mutilate her after raping and killing her.
Daniel Chauke was found guilty of every one of the seven rape counts. The 62-year-old killed and raped his victims while terrorizing towns,On May 27, he was captured in Usanga, Chipinge.
His term will run out in 60 years.
Via its X account, which was originally Twitter, the National Prosecuting Authority verified the sentence.
Chauke was first accused of three counts of rape and murder; six more rape counts were later added.
The State presented evidence that on April 3, 2022, while she was leaving her field, he sexually assaulted a 69-year-old woman.

As he got closer, he accused her grandchildren of robbing him. He then gave her a blow to the face, which made her pass out. He then bound her hands, put her in a chokehold, and led her into a thicket where he sexually assaulted her. Then he took her phone and ran away.
Between July 2022 and April of this year, Chauke is accused of committing six identical offenses against women who were 60 years old, 46 years old, 23 years old, 71 years old, 26 years old, and 45 years old.
In addition, he faces three counts of murder for killing his victims after raping them.
Ruth Sithole was working in her farm in Chikwanda village, Chief Mutema, when he sexually assaulted and killed her on October 21st of last year. Before bringing Sithole into the jungle to be sexually assaulted and strangled, Chauke feigned to be looking for job. Then he used a machete to attack her dog.
When he was apprehended, Sithole’s spoon was discovered with him.
He killed Honeni Manaka on April 24 of this year at Derera Village, Chief Ngorima region, Chimanimani. When she rejected his proposal of love, he pulled her into the bush, raped, and strangled her. Then he disfigured her, stole her linen and undergarments, and ran away. He was discovered in her underwear.
