Epworth-Bound Bus Catches Fire, Passengers Flee Through Windows

A fire breaks out on a bus bound for Epworth, allowing passengers to escape via open windows.

A bus en route to Epworth caught fire, causing passengers to jump out of windows in an attempt to escape. A chaotic video has gone viral, showing people fleeing the bus as dense smoke billows out of it.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has not released an official statement regarding the number of casualties or the cause of the fire yet. It is unknown whether any passengers were hurt, but so far, no fatalities have been reported.

Concerned social media users have voiced their disapproval of current public transit safety protocols, leading to an online discussion surrounding the occurrence.

People riding on buses are requesting that officials verify the vehicles’ safety often and ensure the fire extinguishers are operational.
