JOBS: Apply for Program Graduate Internships at Zimbabwe Health Interventions

Zimbabwe Health Interventions

Zimbabwe Health Interventions (ZHI), a non-profit organization registered as a Private Voluntary Organisation (PVO 17/22), is dedicated to advancing human development. Our mission is to create and implement sustainable, high-impact health interventions for communities, collaborating with and strengthening existing institutions.

Our Re-Ignite Innovate Sustain and Empower (RISE) program targets the primary drivers of HIV risk among adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in Zimbabwe through a proven strategy known as DREAMS (Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored, and Safe women). The program’s objective is to reduce new HIV infections among AGYW aged 10-24 by 2026 by enhancing HIV and sexual violence prevention efforts. The program is active in eleven high-burden HIV districts across Zimbabwe: Beitbridge, Bulawayo, Bulilima, Gwanda, Gweru, Insiza, Mangwe, Matobo, Mazowe, Gokwe South, and Mberengwa, situated in the provinces of Mashonaland Central, Midlands, Bulawayo, and Matabeleland South.

ZHI’s key role in the DREAMS-RISE Program involves delivering a comprehensive curriculum focused on HIV prevention, gender norms, and social asset building for AGYW in both school and community settings, including their sexual partners. Our primary goals are to:

The DREAMS-RISE Program offers an integrated set of interventions addressing critical factors that increase HIV vulnerability among girls and young women. This includes tackling structural issues such as gender-based violence, lack of economic opportunities, and limited access to secondary education. By layering multiple support mechanisms, DREAMS aims to safeguard AGYW from HIV and other risks.
