Job Description
Zimasco (Pvt) Limited, a leading player in Zimbabwe’s Ferrochrome Production sector, is seeking qualified and experienced individuals for exciting career opportunities at our Shurugwi & South Dyke Division. We invite applications for the position of Electrician Class 1 on a fixed-term employment contract basis, renewable subject to performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform electrical installations and maintenance of up to 550V Motor Control Centres, machinery, and equipment.
- Install and maintain PLCs, SCADA systems, variable speed drives, weigh scales, mass flow meters, and all plant instruments.
- Conduct electrical fault-finding and repairs on all plant equipment, including standby duties.
- Carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPMs) as per scheduled plans and standby duties.
- Ensure compliance with SHE Management and the NOSA Five Star Integrated System.
Qualifications and Experience
- Class 1 NEC Certificate in Electrical Engineering or higher.
- Minimum of five ‘O’ Levels, including Mathematics, English, and Science.
- High Level Electrician training is an added advantage.
- At least 5 years of post-qualification experience, with 3 years in a Section Electrician role in a heavy industrial or mining environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical constructions, installations, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in PLCs and High Voltage switchgear maintenance is essential.
- Familiarity with Integrated Maintenance Management Systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety management systems; experience with the NOSA SHE System is a plus.
- Proficient in ERP systems, preferably SAP, is an added advantage.
- Clean Class 4 driver’s license is required.
