Thirteen young people, the majority of whom were under the age of eighteen, had gathered in Gokwe South District last week to celebrate a friend’s birthday when police broke them up.
The gang, which was made up of six guys and seven girls, had brought a lot of “hot stuff,” or homemade booze, to the celebration in Musauki Village, which was led by Chief Njelele.
Some of the participants were obviously drunk by the time the police arrived.
Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko of the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) in Midlands Province verified the event to The Mirror.
According to Mahoko, the teenagers were brought to the Gokwe police station and given warnings and cautions in front of their parents. Individuals who declined to assist law enforcement were subject to fines. According to Insp. Mahoko:

Police in Gokwe dispersed 13 teenagers on suspicion that the gathering would lead to serious abuse of drugs and substances. A tip-off was received about the gathering.
They were drinking a diluted brandy in a 20-litre bucket. The event was a belated birthday party for their friend who is 17 years old.
In other news, A 32-year-old man from Chitungwiza Simba Machipisa has been charged with the horrific murder of his ex-lover’s two-year-old son, Truth, in a horrific act of retaliation.
The horrific event took place at the mother’s home on Kunadanga Road in Zengeza, where Machipisa was not allowed to go because of past abuse and a current protection order.
Witnesses describe the terrifying events of how Machipisa, who was well-known for his aggressive tendencies and martial arts abilities, broke into the home by tricking the adolescent daughter into believing he was her uncle.
