After suffering a swift 52-second defeat in his latest UFC bout, Zimbabwean fighter Themba Gorimbo found himself facing accusations of having links to Zimbabwe’s ruling ZANU-PF party. In response to these claims, Gorimbo took to social media to firmly deny any political involvement.
Gorimbo clarified that his 2021 visit to Zimbabwe’s State House was not politically motivated but rather a professional recognition, as he was invited by the president following his achievement in UFC. He emphasized that his neutrality in politics remains intact, despite his personal connections with notable figures on both sides of the political spectrum.
In a detailed post, Gorimbo refuted claims that he supports any political party, expressing his frustration with critics who attempted to link him to ZANU-PF following his loss. He also addressed a previous incident involving a comment about musician Winky D, clarifying that it was a joke that was misunderstood, for which he has since apologized.
