The popular women-centred lifestyle and music event Doek‑Cap and Slay UK is back bigger, bolder, and spiced with music on 4 July 2026 at Corby Rugby Club.
This year’s edition will be headlined by Zimbabwean crowd favourites Bazooker, Iyasa, and Nyasha David, with more artists expected to be added to the lineup.
“We’re Picking Up Where We Left Off”
Award-winning promoter Doek Fest UK Trudy Daliel Mutena said the 2026 event is building on the momentum of last year’s success.
“We’re picking up from where we stopped last year. The 2025 event was a huge success with over 600 women attending. This year marks our third year running, and we’re excited to grow it even more,” she said.
Despite challenges in the entertainment and events industry, Trudy Daliel Mutena continued to push forward with determination and consistency.
In her words, resilience is about staying the course, trusting the process, and showing up even when the odds are stacked against you.
Her hard work has not gone unnoticed. She was voted Best Promoter of the Year at the Zim Diaspora Awards, a recognition she says came directly from the people.
“People spoke and I won,” she said proudly.
Women First, Then the Vibes Expand
In a new twist for 2026, the event will include men but only later in the day.
From 12 midday to 7pm, the space will remain women-only, preserving the safe, expressive, and empowering environment that Doek-Cap and Slay is known for. Men will then be allowed in for the final two hours of the event.
“We value women’s space,” Trudy Daliel Mutena explained. “But who knows someone might just leave with their soulmate,” she added with a laugh.
